Rupert Bull

Rupert has over 25 years of international experience and a wide-ranging network. He is a successful entrepreneur having co-founded, built, and sold Expand Research, the leading Capital Markets benchmarking and research business to The Boston Consulting Group (BCG).

Rupert has a passion for FinTech grounded in both research and practice. On leaving BCG he founded The Disruption House, a specialist research firm investigating disruption in financial services and the role that FinTech is playing in it. He is also the founder of an early stage FinTech focused on datamining social media for trading predictions.

Rupert believes in growing businesses organically through sales, the route he has taken in his own businesses. He co-founded Finceler8 to offer his expertise and support to FinTechs that need or want to do the same.

Rupert’s career is full of innovation and disruption. At Expand he created the market for benchmarking Capital Markets IT investment in a business context, turning Expand from a consultancy to a technology enabled subscription benchmarking service analysing over $125 billion per annum of Operational Expenditure.

Before founding Expand in 2001, he was at Instinet from 1998-2001, launching electronic trading into the OTC voice traded bond markets.

At Reuters from 1993-1998 he launched an electronic last minute discount market for airfreight – a successful B2B eCommerce platform preceding the Internet!

Before Reuters, Rupert spent 4 ½ years in the British Army, completing two operational tours with the United Nations in the Gulf and Cambodia.
